Yep, Petrol here is pricey. However, it's quite easy to make money here. I make a fairly decent income working as a musician, sometimes session, sometimes band gigs, and I don't even have to drive that much.

When I start getting my dues from the Jung and Barrett's lillywear franchise thingy, I think I could go for some joyrides!

The thing about prices in Britain is that public transportation is much better than a laughable joke, and everything is closer. I've got little more than a convenience store/mexican restaraunt/brown bag store within 2 miles of my home. There are no bike lanes here, and downtown is 15 miles away. It just isn't feasible to do anything other than drive, where I live. I guess its made up for in the low cost of living, but oh well. I'd rather we could make a significant impact in the wallets of gas companies.

2 bucks is not worth getting upset over. Just remember the place.

(Watch, the next time the cheap place will be $4.30)

So, how far is a round trip to downtown, one gallon of gas?

Pretty much, depending on what I drive. I don't have to drive more than 20 or 25 miles to work (I take inventory, so its different every day), so I'm not having to put gas in my car multiple times a week (and sometimes can stretch it to a week and a half or two weeks), I just wish there were other viable options. The fact that I don't like driving doesn't help.

I drive 30 miles to my day job, 60 miles round trip. I could do my work from home but my company prefers not to go that route. There is no public transportation alternative for me. Plus we are missing a bridge and a few others are in various stages of repair and frequently have detours around them.
