And I forgot the woman's name, but a forty-some year old woman won, I believe, THREE silver medals in swimming. Now that is amazing. EDIT: Her name is Dara Torres, and she is 41 years old.

Nastia Liukin and Usain Bolt are officially my favorite athletes of the games so far. Nastia because she's from 'round these parts (Dallas I mean), and Usain because he accomplished the most athletic feat I have seen in my life so far (setting the world record in the 200m and 100m).

Usain Bolt is amazin!!....Phelps WHO? And WHO cares if he Showboats! Showboating = Confidence...and at this point he CANNOT be beaten! He'z da man! YAW MON!!
What kinda sucks is that NBC hardly covers other sprinters. If he were an American, he'd be ALL over their broadcasts...just like how NBC was trying to Milk every single ounce outta the Phelps story. That 30min+ Interview NBC did w/Phelps and his family the other day was sad...and a total waste of time.

I know, I know... just joking around.

I mean really, the 100m sprint is a less-than-10-second race. Do what you're supposed to do and run for those 10 seconds. Then you'll have the rest of your life to gloatingly showboat. What he did was immature, and I sincerely hope that his record is broken by someone who has the modesty to wait until the race has finished to begin celebrations.

Woohoo! U.S.A. now has reached the century-mark in total medals - 30 gold, 36 silver, and 34 bronze. China has 83, albeit with a whopping 46 golds, the majority of them in diving and gymnastics (where their lithe 9-year-olds are flourishing).

It's so sad when the Olympics end and you have to wait 2 years to see the next Olympics. The people of the world put aside the differences and we all played the Olympics with no anger or fear of eachother. I am glad to have experienced the Olympics in China. Now...off to Models to get some Michael Phelps shirts and some Shawn Johnson shirts. Enjoy guys.

True, the finish is sad, but what a way to end the show! I doubt I'll ever see something as spectacular as that closing ceremony in a very long time. I mean, I felt like Seth Rogen in Knocked Up when he goes to Cirque du Soleil totally high on shrooms . Goodbye to the spectacular Beijing 2008 Olympics (a.k.a. the Phelps-Bolt Games) and onwards to London 2012! Barrett, you think your countrymen can top this ?

What?
Oh I don't care about the Olympics really, the UK can do whatever they want. I don't take pride in my country's displays in some "world" event. If it's good it's good, if not (shrugs*)
