Default RIP Rick Wright

Well most may be oblivious to who this man is, but he is Richard Wright, one of the oldest, longest lasting members of legendary progressive rock band Pink Floyd. He lost his battle to cancer today, and now wherever he is, I hope he is at peace.

He was known as the keyboardist for Pink Floyd, lasting from the times of the Syd Barrett era, to the Wall, before being fired by Waters. He was re-hired by Gilmour after Waters had left the band.

One of my favorite bands of all time. Dark Side of the Moon my favorite album. I hadn't heard of his illness or death. I lost a dear friend to cancer this week myself. The older I get the more I experience death. Hope you are doing well TB.

Pink Floyd was the first band I ever got into, and they changed my outlook on music altogether. I had no clue Rick was ill and was very saddened to hear that he died. He was an important part of the band, writing and singing several songs for the band, and of course keyboards were always an integral part of the Pink Floyd sound. RIP Syd Barrett and Rick Wright.

I don't know much about him, and now all of sudden i urge to learn more. This reminds me how ironic death can be sometimes. First someone spend their whole life doing wonderful things, but not until after their death they get recognized for it.

I may not know much of him, but from what i know, he managed to move alot of people in his life. And if i were to describe the meaning of life itself, then i would say it's just about that, to spread as much joy and happiness to as many people as possible. Atleast that is what i would like it to be.

Rest in peace Rick, my condolences.
