don't get me wrong, i love it when she sings in english with that angelic voice.. adorable accent.. and the lot!

but honestly, the english version for Amelie, i can't understand most of it.

I'm Not Twenty, now that was amazing in both French and English!

That's funny, because I think the English translation of Amélie ma dit was the only really successful English translation; maybe you need to see the movie. I'm Not Twenty and I'm Fed Up, are OK, but seem to lose some of their substance and I almost never listen to them over the French originals. The worst is Youpidoo, but I've heard it doesn't really make much sense in French either, but at least I like the sound and rhythm of the French lyrics much better; it's a fun one to sing along to in the car.

yeah, that's what nearly everyone thinks. as they have on choice, they have to listen to Alizee when im driving, so they've heard 'em all.

they all prefer the french versions too.

*shrugs*

so if anything, id say we should try with the english songs!

I'm Not Twenty would be amazing! it's catchy, very pop music like, and most importantly, tis mah favorite song!
Your so wrong. Rammstein sings in German and they are massively famous. Many many many other hits have made it in other languages.

The obstacle is the record companies guarding their territories like drug dealers.

how successful has he been in the US though? I mean, i've never heard of them, nor have i ever heard any of their songs on the radio and such.

seriously, most people aren't gonna have an interest in something they cannot understand. which is very unfortunate.

This is has been hashed over repeatedly on this forum. There are many french and other foriegn singers who have had hits in the us in different languages.

Ramsstein toured the us and sold out in San Antonio in seconds. I cant imagine they flew to the US to just play in SA.
