I doubt it: MS is copying google's main page, they want it as simple as possible.
Yahoo and MSN are not as successful as google in part because they are quite bloated. |

Bi.ng Better features than google?
I haven't tried Bing in ages. until I saw this primordial thread(ca. 2006) pop on the 'Who's on Line' page of AAm. Bing has FAST video preview right on the hits page. ** Bing activates preview "onmouseover" and volume full blast so it can be annoying if not careful **
Super short url bi.ng. I think that google also has short url goo.gl but that's still one more character ( Oh no! goo.gl is for the url Shortener) point: bi.ng. Then again we only need type "goo" and autocomplete does the rest. On the 'very personal taste department': When in bi.ng, my browser doesn't display the blinding white background that Google seems to value so much But that's prolly due to my ridiculously outdated browser... On the 'everything' results when presented with picture hits the 'bigger' thumbnail on mouseover is four times bigger than that of Google's and it does it right on the first results page. No need to go to "Image" search, if the hits are good, just for a bigger view. Even the "damned" Auto complete list for the query "alizee" seems more interesting in bi.ng *The previews are even bigger than in this pic because forum downsized my capture image from 1kpxls across to 600pixles. This post should not count as 'nechromancing of the thread' for I dare not claim posses the skills such endeavor, if at all, might entail... I just felt that Bing, due to poor market share in SEARCH, even with all the Alizée 'material', did not deserve a New thread NOR a forum search for a more suitable one. I wouldn't worry about getting better results in google; by now MS has managed to retro engineer *cough clone*the holy grail of Search (g's algorithm ) |
