I use it all the time except for when i make a long post or something like that. I'm using it right now for this posts.

Of course that does not include the normal smilies that are easy to remember: :P :/

I like the text smilies too because it makes this look more like an IRC rather than a forum

I never use it, for the same reasons as already mentioned by aFrenchie and RMJ. I can't remember all the smileys and I almost always use the preview feature, also for short messages
