Default Le French Culture is Superior; N'est-Ce Pas ?

Le French Culture is Superior , Is it not so ?
As an American I think I can say so ? !
The French greet you by kissing your cheeks; making you feel welcome;
however in the states they will shake your hand or ask How's it going ?
The audiences will stand up and dance with the entertainers and clap with them; but in the states they will sit in their seats sometime and sort of demand to be entertained !
If you are hurt in the states; you will go to the hospital ER where they will charge you $120 for X-rays and $10 for an aspirin ? ! You might say, but I can buy a bottle of aspirin in the pharmacy for $5 ? But they will say if we pre-scribe it we are authorized to charge it ?
So, from what I have heard the health system in France is more economical !
Also the ER staff seem mad at you for showing up; if you are not unconscious or bleeding out. Then they think it is their job to make your visit uncomfortable ? ! ( I know because I took my elderly mother to the ER occasionally ) I would hope that the ER's in France are better !

In France I have heard that you get to take two hours for Lunch and get a real meal ? ! But in the states the company gives you 30 to 45 minutes for lunch; so people run around wild-eyed saying I have to get my sandwich and take it back to my desk to keep working or the supervisors might think I am shirking ? I have done this many times ! Also in the states the waiters/waitresses work on tips; so they expect you to eat your meal fast; so they can exit you out and then seat the next guests so they can get another tip ? !

Americans do have some good qualities. They can be generous ! If you lose your money in the states they will spot you a meal and if you are lucky they have a spare bedroom they will let you stay overnight if you need to. They will however tell you all about their business you might not want to hear; and they will expect you to tell all about your life; which I am sure a european might not want to do ? !

we had a social after hours at work sometimes once a month ; but this consisted of going to the bowling alley and/or the pool hall; so in reality it was competition, not socialization ? !

In re-searching Alizee; I think I have grown to where I love the French, also ! You might not know in a sort of Tom-Hanks-Meg Ryan romantic comedy; not knowing any French, I flew to France and Paris and proposed marriage to Alizee.
Of course I had to use a letter of Introduction and Proposal in French ! I followed her from the Theatre and got her hotel and then bribed a hotel employee 300 francs for her room number. Then I went and knocked on her door with a box of gifts and a ring for her. She answered the door and I was down on my knee showing her my ring for her. She let me in and read my letter. But she told me "I am too young to get married ( I was older ) and she said she would not live in America only in France or Corsica ! " And so she cried a little bit and put me out the door !

It was for the best, I realize as I am not a dancer, and she would not have won dancing with the stars with me as I have two left feet, as they say ! I looked pretty good then as I looked either like a young paul Newman or robert redford ! I still Love her; as I loved her then and I love her now ! I told her marry me and I can wait until you are ready ! And I will live any where you want ! But still she demurred , alas !

When I went over for the autograph session at the Virgin Megastore in 2010 I believe it was, there were 3 other gentlemen who joined me. One was a guy whose forum name was Backinblack. If I remember correctly his first name was Neil. He is the one that translated many of the magazine articles and interviews in the early years. After the autograph session, we went out for a few beers. Him and his girlfriend were both teachers from the US who were now teaching in France. He told me a couple of interesting things about the French people.

One was in the way they are sort of indifferent towards people they don't know. In our country, we more or less, especially if you've worked in the service industry, greet people with a smile, where over there, they won't smile until they find out what you're about.

In schools, they all have the same notebooks, pencils and pens and paper and book bags because they are not taught to be individuals. They are taught to follow.

One thing I've learned in my trips to either Quebec, Canada or to France, when you go to someplace like a restaurant and try to use your little bit of French. They'll know right away you're a foreigner and they won't give you a break language wise. You could be pronoucing their words perfectly and they'll act like you're speaking Chinese.

When I went to Ajaccio, I spoke to a young waiter there who spoke English very well. He told me how many people there, especially older people have fierce feelings about nationalism. They want to be independant from France. Notice how when Alizee is asked where she's from when she's in a foreign country. She never says France. She always says Corsica and she says it with a lot of pride. A lot of these people look upon Napoleon as a traitor. This waiter said they do have good school and health care systems over there and younger people are very happy with that. Of course those good systems are paid for by taxes you pay.

A lot of good information; Scruffy ! Never having been there; I only get the information I can pick up online.
I know the Corsicans have always wanted to be free; first from the Genoese, who occupied them and later from the French, they ceded them to !

Originally Napoleon was a Corsican nationalist; but when he went to France as an Artillery Officer he fell in with the Directory and later helped suppress the Corsican nationalists, I think. Later he fell out with them and so he was scheduled to be terminated along with Josephine Beauharnis ( because she had been married to a noble ) But luckily Robespierre fell before this was carried out ! ( But this is another story ! )
I read where he was actually christened Napoleone di Buonaparte; but changed it after in France to Napoleon Bonaparte !
His father secured him a place at the military school; where at first he only spoke Corsican ! He had to learn his French which they say he always spoke with a Corsican Accent !

Default A True Story or a Fable ?

Now, in her day Josephine was Beautiful; so the Noble Beauharnes spent no expense wooing her ! And so she finally married him, becoming Josephine Beauharnis ! But then he had to go overseas to tend to his plantations and so he locked Josephine in His House in Paris and she couldn't get out ! So she waited until the food delivery people showed up with their supplies and she got out and changed the Locks so she could leave the House; as Beauharnis was going to be gone 2 months there and back by ship !
And so she started to sight-see around Paris, but thought she needed a protector ! She found the young Artillery Officer on a bench; who was starving as military pay was Irregular. So she asked him to escort her around Paris and she would pay for his lunch and Dinner ! And the officer was the young Napoleon ! Since he was an officer in the army he was allowed to carry a sword and a Pistol so nobody bothered them !
Now Josephine was a nice Girl, a nice woman, a nice person; just like our Alizee ! And so as she would walk along the streets she would pass a Beggar ! And she would tell Napoleone; Give the poor beggar a few francs and he would ( it was after all Beauharness's money ) And so the Beggar Loved Joesephine and liked Napoleone !
I should say that the reason he was a beggar was that he had the misfortune to be an extremely ugly man; sort of like our actor Machete ( who is so far passed ugly , that he is handsome again ! Ha ! ) So he was so ugly no one would hire him for a job, and so he was a Beggar on the streets !
Now there came a time when the Revolution happened; and the Beggar was Promoted up into the Directory and he was the man who copied the orders for termination for the Committee of Public Safety . And so ; as it turned out Josephine was arrested because she had married a Noble and Napoleon was arrested for being disloyal to the directory !
And so the Beggar received the order at one time to Terminate Josephine Beauharnis; but he remembered her, and so he ate the order with his roast beef sandwich ( the directory ate well ) and so Josephine was never terminated ! Then too one day he received the order to terminate Napoleon Bonaparte; but the Beggar remembered him and so he ate Naopoleon's order with his lunch also ! And so Napoleon was never terminated !
Then after the Directory fell Napoleon became Napoleon I, Emperor of the French crowned by the Pope; and Josephine married him becoming Josephine Bonaparte and Empress of France !
Now when the Emperor was busy, Josephine would still sight-see along Paris in her Carriage and when she saw the Beggar again, she would have her footman give him a few francs and wave at him from the carriage and he would wave back ! And people would ask him; do you know the Empress ? And he would tell them I knew her from before the Revolution ! And so nobody would bother the beggar !
And so if there is a moral to the story; it is always be kind to people, as you might see them again going up or down in your life, and they just might save your life sometimes !

Default Waaah ! I almost go into Withdrawal !

Waaaah ! I almost go into Withdrawal without Alizee America !

I would support it better; but my finances are at a low point; till I get my books out !

Funny story ! I was at a company party and late; so they said you are on a team playing charades ! So our group leader was the captain of the other team and he was a little of a sadist ; so he gave us a phrase to do us in ! And since I was late I had to do it ! The Phrase was C'est La Vie ! Remember I am playing with americans and I am not sure any of them know french ( this is before I had heard of Alizee and trying to learn a little French )
I had no idea how to do this ! So I drew a map picture of the eastern seaboard and then an X through it. Then I drew a picture of a map of europe and had an arrow pointing to France. It is a French saying I said. Luckily one girl knew some french so she got it immediately and so I saved my team the points for that round ! whew !

Default I promote her videos !

I am somewhat of a writer and so occasionally I make us stories about Alizee's videos; but this helps her out as she gets new admirers and views and subscribers ! Because I still kinda love her ! But I am not a crazy fan; I would never hurt her ! I would, if I hit the lottery someday and get to France and run into her; I would simply ask her for an autograph or a selfie with a silly smile upon my face ! And I am sure she is used to guys asking for an autograph with a silly smile on their faces !

The last time I did this for one of her videos; I think her views exploded with something like an additional 100,000 views ! Ha !
But she might unmask me sometimes and say; "Your're the guy who makes up stories about me ! I might have to slap you silly !" But since she is a nice person, perhaps she will give me a Break ! Ha !

Default Stupido Companies

Some Companies are just Stupid !

Try as I might I can't get Mattel to issue Alizee Barbies in all her outfits ? !
Even though they issue Barbies for everybody else ? !
Do they act this way because she is French or Corsican, I do not know ?
But I emailed them again; but they haven't rejected my latest email yet; so maybe it will still come about. I am positive it would be a hit all over ! I didn't ask them for anything for the idea !

Perhaps all of the members of Alizeeamerica should write or email in and demand Alizee Barbies from Mattel Corporation ! That would get them to sit up and take notice ! Ha ! They can negotiate terms with Alizee !
( Sorry to be crazy about this ! )

Then there is the slipper companies like Nike, etc. I suggest they use her for a sponser; as she wears this type of shoe a lot ! They have sponsers all over; but they haven't responded to me and again I ask for nothing for the idea ! So maybe that will still come about !
