here's a challenge for someone... does anyone recognize the statue in that picture... it'd be nice when I go to France to stand in the same spot Alizee stood, and then to get grab a microphone from my backpack and sing Moi Lolita...
loudly.

No, it's not the only park in Ajaccio.
But the statue behind her in that photo is Napoleon riding horse. He is surrounded by 4 other persons, his brothers. I'm not right now at home so I can't show any pics of it. And is it even park or not is questionable.. more like square... But it has fountains and plants there so it looks like park from certain angle. THere's few more photos of Alizée in that park so check them out to see how it's like. |

Here's a couple of shots off of a couple stock image sites, this statue is called the Place du Diamant (aka Place de Gaulle), and is located near the Place des Palmiers (aka Place Foch), where the fountain of Napoleon surrounded by lions is, if you are ever in Ajaccio. Being that it is his, as with Alizée's hometown, there are a lot of statues of him there. I wonder if there will ever be a statue of Alizée built there someday. PS: It is number 3 on this map, 9 is the Citadel, 10 is the Place des Palmiers, 11 is the Harbour Station and probably where you will arrive(unless you fly in), 5 is the Cinéma Bonaparte and 6 is Cinéma Théatre L'Empereur, just in case you needed to borrow a microphone Ya I know what the hell right, but I figured it would be good to know my way around so that if I ever got there I wouldn't get lost too easily. That's some sick research... thanks!! Now if you could tell me how much plane tickets are to Ajaccio during July from New York, which hotel to stay at, and recommend fine dining I would be eternally grateful. LOL

Actually, Homer's video includes some photos of that park, too. (And Ben might have some more, if he took from there.)
And to put them into right context.. Last edited by RMJ; 04-11-2007 at 09:46 AM.. |
