Yeah the food's boss at La Creme! I think I can make it again, woot!

It may be a dumb question, but if the restauraunt's normally closed on Tuesdays is Mr. Bertrand gonna dirty-up his kitchen for us? (assuming we pick the 21st)

To Steilacoom (WHAT a name, but i'm ok with it!).

What kind of boarding is there nearby? If i come (and i just bloody well MIGHT!) I'm going to need just a TAD bit of assist...

For example - i don't know good neighborhoods from bad there - where should i look for a hotel/motel? Would someone be willing to pick me up from Tacoma Airport? I figure with about 35 to 40 hours of overtime in a two week period prior to this, i could afford it. How my wifey will take it will be interesting . . . buuuuuuuuuuuuuut.... I think i can swing it...

This sounds like fun....

Personally, I'd recommend staying in Tacoma, and driving out to Steilacoom for the party (about a half an hour drive). Tacoma has waaaay more stuff to do for the rest of your visit. If you stay in downtown Tacoma, that's the museum district, and has a free light-rail over to a small shopping complex, plus lots of good restaurants. I live in Tacoma, and would be happy to pick you up and take you out there if you like - just know that I'll be at the party from earliest beginning to latest ending :-)

The Tacoma Downtown Marriot is an excellent hotel, and I don't believe it's too expensive. There's also a Sheraton I believe, right next door, attached to a convention center. When I get home from work this evening, I'll get some links up.

The airport to fly in to is Sea-Tac airport (Seattle-Tacoma International Airport - airport code SEA for internet booking purposes). I work there, so know my way around the area pretty darn well. It's about half an hour north of Tacoma by car, a hair more by bus. If you came in on Monday the 20th or Tuesday the 21st, I'd be happy to pick you up there as well and get you to your hotel.

Ok, I need to get ready to leave for home, my relief is here. I'll get some hotel and map links up when I get there!

Looking forward to meeting everybody!

It doesn't look like putting it to a vote did very much good helping you decide, CFHollister.
I'll be looking forward to seeing the pictures from this party...

If we have 17 people who actually seriously may be attending, as indicated by 17 votes and the request in the OP that only potential attendees chime in, we're gonna have a hell of a great party!

I can't wait :-)

Working on those hotels links, maps, and goodies! Gotta get some dinner in me :-)

I am gonna go ahead and say I'm a "Maybe" - I would LOVE to attend... I have GOT to to make sure this is not gonna be a prob. with the ole' lady! I can't use any of my savings, or cash in any of "our" stocks or investments . . . . So this is gonna be ALL overtime if i do make it

Nice thing is, I work 12 hr. shifts, If i CAN make it - I can prolly fly out, attend, come back and NOT use any vacation! Or miss any work...

I would love to get a ride Cooney - 30 min Cab rides can be expensive, and i wouldn't want to show up in anything LESS than a limo! :O

Looks like you can get a flight on orbitz for about $312 round trip from Syracuse to Seattle, leaving way early Tuesday morning and getting in at noon Tuesday. For that flight, you'd have to stay until late Wed. evening and red-eye it back. You'd only have to stay one night (unless you partied all night and then hung out at the airport )

That would be way cool if you could make it. (I probably won't so I'm hoping others will, if you know what I mean.)
