I myself am a great believer in one's space affecting one's artistic output. My mother wrote an entire book on the influence of places on music, and my own training in theatre teaches me to look to the space I occupy for influence and information on how to perform. Seeing one of Alizée's spaces is great!
Excellent quote Cooney, could not have said it better myself.......

Waaah! I miss Europe (and I've only been there once!). Just looking at the streets and the sidewalks, you know you're not in the USA. Even our oldest cities don't have those kind of large stones sidewalks, exquisitely built arches, and just that "feel" I get from looking at those pics. Thanks again, bigdan.

As Roman commented, it is very tight... not the sort of place a person used to open spaces and the sea would want to be all the time. On the other hand though, it is waaaay better than New York. NYC, the buildings are generally much taller, far less interesting to look at, and the streets are dark and windswept because the buildings block the sun and channel the wind. Last time I was there, my lips got windburned just from walking around town.

Yeah, "tight" is a good word. Amsterdam in particular is extremely tight, because of how scarce land is there; the architecture is pretty interesting because of that (all these tall thin houses crammed next to each other along the canals).

Well, it's a maybe short as an analysis of all a continent
You know, Paris is a very special place, it doesn"t look like any other town in France. Space can be larger, in other place in the country. In south of france, for instances. There is numbers of different landscapes in just my country , so it's a little bit strange to feel that you see Europe as a the same, big ,uniform place !

(I suppose the atmosphere is not exactly the same between Tulsa and Washington dc , uh?)

Awesome pictures! You know what would be cool, too...is if you could take some pictures at or near the shoe store in this Video:
http://moi-alizee.us/play/?v=30 - Stars a Domicile

It would be pretty cool to retrace Alizee & Jessica's steps for this video. Might be a bit out of your way, though..since your in Paris. i'm thinking the store is in Arcachon, since thats where Jessica lives, i think. Dunno where exactly she lives, but at the time...the vid said she lives in Arcachon, Gironde...its in the Bordeaux region...South west of Paris.

Anywayz, keep the pictures coming!!! Great Thread!
