I'm starting to get a gut feeling this was a pirated clip recorded directly from the studio and released on the internet by a traitor in the camp of Alizee unknown to her as to who this traitor is
I bet Alizee is infuriated right now... boy I would love to be a fly on the wall of her home |

Ok, So I havn't been up very long this morning and haven't gone back and read all of the new posts in this thread since last night about these FREAKING AWSOME clips. Still, I feel like I should say something intelligent, insightful... but it seems that as I listen to the clip on continuous loop that the only coherent reaction I can come up with (whether this is the proper time or place or not) is:
Je t'aime, Alizée!!!

Here's the translation of the full minute clip we have. I'm still adding stuff, so it's a bad idea to quote it.
Fifty sixty Né en cinquante, Sexy soixante, Si excitante, S’extasie Candide elle croit, tout ce qu’Andy Qu'Andy dit d'elle , Qu’elle est la plus belle De toutes les modeles Fifty // Sixty, translated by espire Pretty Sixteen Beautiful heroine of the sixties The way you move, you're divine When you dance In Andy's eyes Goodbye, bebop, over-the-top, It's the pop-art That gets you Trapped Popcorn and hula-hoops Dream of fame and fortune, Chic and Chanel, love is glamour, At expos you pose and expose, In 400ASA(1) you try every pose. Fifty sixty Born in the fifties(2) Sexy sixty So excited She's in ecstasy Foolishly she believes all that Andy(3) That Andy tells her That she's the most beautiful (4) Of all the models Fifty // Sixty's theme, by mAfqA, Deepwaters, and espire This song is about Andy Warhol, an artist in film, photography, and many other aspects, and his relationship with Edith "Edie" Sedgwick. She was featured in many of Andy's short films, and he called her his "superstar." They were often seen together. Edie Sedgwick was born in 1943, which would make her sixteen years old in 1959. A movie called "Factory Girl" was made, portraying the relationship between the two. It shows how Andy Warhol promised to make her a star, her rise to fame, and her eventual descent into obscurity. The same thing has essentially happened between Mylène Farmer and Alizée. Mylène promised Alizée that she would become famous, and she did for a few years. However, Mylène seriously neglected Alizée late in the Mes courants électriques era, and Alizée became forgotten by most. Fifty // Sixty line explanations, by espire (1) 400ASA is a film type, so this line is read as "in front of the camera." (2) Edie Sedgwick was not born in the fifties, she was born in 1943. However, she was discovered by Andy Warhol and born as a star in the fifties. (3) Andy always promised that Edie would become a star. She was famous for a short time, but quickly became forgotten. (4) Andy considered Edie to be the most beautiful of all his models.

Thanks! I'm still working out little things, but while I make this post, might I ask everybody to quote Cindy from AFC for her transcribing, and me for my translation when using this somewhere else?

Ah, now I begin to get the reference to Alizée's own life/career, and how she might relate to the story of Edie, even though superficially they are very different.
Matrix, I am skeptical about that idea of this being a pirated leak for the simple reason that we don't have the whole song. If you were a traitor in the camp, wouldn't you leak the whole thing, not just a teaser? An excerpt like this is an incentive to buy the single, not a replacement for it. I'm not sensing any fury from Alizée at the moment, but if she is mad and I'm just not sensing it, then she needs to lighten up IMO. This is doing her no harm -- just the opposite.

"Saper" means "to undermine." Is that what you mean by "gets you?" Or would the meaning be more clear if you said something like "weakens you" or "(is) your weaknses?"
Also, "oser" means "to dare," not "to try."

Don't worry, I looked everything up to make sure . I was concerned about everything that you just mentioned, but "gets you" is meant to be "undermine" and I think works better in a song. I also wanted to use "dare" but it didn't really sound right. Also, "pose" in English is much more relevant to girls and modelling than in French, I believe.
