This song is about Andy Warhol, an artist in film, photography, and many other aspects, and his relationship with Edith "Edie" Sedgwick. She was featured in many of Andy's short films, and he called her his "superstar." They were often seen together. Edie Sedgwick was born in 1943, which would make her sixteen years old in 1959. A movie called "Factory Girl" was made, portraying the relationship between the two. It shows how Andy Warhol promised to make her a star, her rise to fame, and her eventual descent into obscurity.

The same thing has essentially happened between Mylène Farmer and Alizée. Mylène promised Alizée that she would become famous, and she did for a few years. However, Mylène seriously neglected Alizée late in the Mes courants électriques era, and Alizée became forgotten by most.

(1) 400ASA is a film type, so this line is read as "in front of the camera."

(2) Edie Sedgwick was not born in the fifties, she was born in 1943. However, she was discovered by Andy Warhol and born as a star in the fifties.

(3) Andy always promised that Edie would become a star. She was famous for a short time, but quickly became forgotten.

(4) Andy considered Edie to be the most beautiful of all his models.

Ah, now I begin to get the reference to Alizée's own life/career, and how she might relate to the story of Edie, even though superficially they are very different.

Matrix, I am skeptical about that idea of this being a pirated leak for the simple reason that we don't have the whole song. If you were a traitor in the camp, wouldn't you leak the whole thing, not just a teaser? An excerpt like this is an incentive to buy the single, not a replacement for it. I'm not sensing any fury from Alizée at the moment, but if she is mad and I'm just not sensing it, then she needs to lighten up IMO. This is doing her no harm -- just the opposite.

Don't worry, I looked everything up to make sure . I was concerned about everything that you just mentioned, but "gets you" is meant to be "undermine" and I think works better in a song. I also wanted to use "dare" but it didn't really sound right. Also, "pose" in English is much more relevant to girls and modelling than in French, I believe.
