![]() Could somebody please e-mail me the song? I know it's the rough version, but I really want to hear it. I've been dying for this new album to come out ever since I discovered Alizee last year (quick question: what's the keyboard shortcut for putting the accent over the first 'e'?).
My e-mail address is [EDIT: taken down, I got what I need!]. Thanks! Also, a lil' bit of info about myself, even though I probably won't post here that often: I'm a 21-year-old American male, studying Journalism. I can't quite remember which Alizee song I heard first or where I heard it, but the first three I got into were "Moi... Lolita," "Veni Vidi Vici," and "À Contre-courant." These days, my favorites are "Gourmandises," "Tempête," "L'e-mail a des ailes," and above all, "L'Alizé." I... I can't even describe how magical "L'Alizé" is. It has this spiritually soaring center, wrapped up in warm, bubbly feelings of child-like wonder... I love it! However, I'm not too fond of celebrity worship. People act like they know Alizee's personality, but honestly, I don't think we've ever seen it. Every public appearance, every interview is a calculated piece of marketing and image control. That being said, if it turned out she's a complete bitch, it wouldn't bother me. I like Alizee for her style, the way she presents herself, and her music. I like her "product," in other words. I just wanted to say that. It always grates me a little to see people talking about how "sweet" Alizee is. Yes, her image is sweet. But what we see is only what she's selling to us. It's okay if you respectfully disagree with me. I won't think any less of you guys if you subscribe to the opposite view. So anyway, yeah, I'd like to hear the new song. Please e-mail it to me! And you can call me Nei for short. - N P.S. I know the image in my avatar is from the "fake" album cover. However, from my limited design knowledge I'd say it is, in fact, a real image made by Team Alizee, but not necessarily the final cover art. I'd say it's a good indication of the style they'll be going for this time around. The logo is probably final, and if the image of Alizee with her dress does not grace the cover, it'll probably wind up as promo art for stores and such. Personally, I love it! ![]() I believe the third line is "Devait renard l'homme __ coeur" but I can't quite get that second to last word.

![]() Thanks for the PM, Toc de Mac!
My first impressions of the new song, "Mlle Juliette" ...It's okay. When it starts out, it doesn't sound like something that would stand well on its own (i.e. I don't think it'll be a single), but when it gets to the chorus it picks up quite a bit. It's definitely better on the second listen. I love the Ahhh's on the bridge, but I'm not sure if the lil' bit of silence and static pop at the end there is intentional; a stylistic set-up for a reinvigorated chorus, perhaps, or merely a blemish on the rough cut that'll be ironed out by final release? Hmm. I'm listening to it as I type this (and it's slowing me dooown), but as of this second paragraph I'm liking it more and more! I'm really warming up to it, even the oddly low-key and flat beginning. ![]() Also, some "Fifty Sixty" impressions. I've been listening to the full version for a week now and I LOVE it. I'd go so far as to say it's in the top three, for me. "Fifty Sixty" is definitely the stuff of smash-hit singles, so here's hoping the final version comes out soon and does well. So, two songs heard out of a rumored ten. Both songs are great so far, and I hope the rest are just as good or better! - N Last edited by Neiteio; 09-09-2007 at 02:21 PM.. |

![]() Neiteio, you're probably right that Fifty Sixty is better single material than Mlle Juliette (at least in the songs current state), but I actually like the latter the best.
I can't help to compare the sound effects in both songs (the "aahs" in Juliette and the "woos", "yeahs" etc in Fifty Sixty). I really dislike them in Fifty Sixty but in Mlle Juliette I don't mind them at all. They're not as annoying and out of place as they are in Fifty Sixty, imo. They blend in perfectly with the rest of the song. |

![]() Wow, I can't believe how quickly I went from being iffy about this song to absolutely LOVING it. It's all starting to click for me now. I can actually picture a music video to it in my head, and in a way it feels like it was made with a music video in mind... So maybe it will be a single. Hard to tell until we see what the other songs are that it's up against.
As for the voices, I agree that they fit PERFECTLY in "Juliette," but in my opinion they're one of best parts to "Fifty Sixty," giving the whole song that rollercoaster ride, riding-in-an-open-car-with-all-my-buddies, "It's sunny out and there's a rainbow, let's party!" feel. The only thing about "Fifty Sixty" that I didn't like right away was the bridge, but that took me... Like ten seconds before I loved that, too! I am so friggin' stoked for this album. I've listened to music all my life, but Alizee is the only artist that has ever compelled me to join a music message board (normally I stick to gaming forums). It's that good. - N Last edited by Neiteio; 09-09-2007 at 02:37 PM.. |
