Why would anyone bother making a website if they don't like Alizee in the first place whether they are French speaking or not.

I hope not. If she wants to sing some songs in English, they should be written in English from the beginning, not versions of songs originally written in French. Fifty-Sixty is a French song (except for the title and a couple of other words) and it should stay that way.

English songs would be great yes, but it seems like most of the fans english and abroad like the French versions better. As do I. But I don't mind listening to the English versions too.

The problem with English "versions" of French songs is that I end up comparing them. I don't think I'd have liked I'm Fed Up or I'm Not Twenty anyway, but Amelie and the English Youpidou aren't bad at all -- except when I compare them to Amelie m'a dit or the French Youpidou!
OTOH, Alizée singing La Isla Bonita is wonderful, so it's not the language itself.

But I must admit I think a big part of that is just because she has a heavier accent in that song and I think its adorable I love the way she says Shadow. Last edited by Calisto; 09-17-2007 at 11:45 PM.. |

To be honest, if you get past the fact that one's "French" and look at what's actually being said, I think the English Youpidou blows the original out of the water. The two Amelie's are about equal, imo, and the remaining English versions are indeed quite inferior.
