The OP was clearly calling the song La Isla Bonita Alizée's best. He even compared the song to her newer material. I quote:

"Every artist has their one, ultimate song, and the rest are good to okay, and Lili's no different, I say she apexed at that point."

So, basically, the OP thinks Madonnas song is better than Alizée's. Which is fine of course, but I think you should give credit to the right person.

Then I must say that her peak so far was with Moi Lolita in En Concert. Her hair style and clothes perfectly accented her natural beauty. She also seemed to be less rehearsed and more free with her movements and audience interaction. This made her more approchable and human which made her more desirable to me.

While I love her televised performances, they seem a little too "produced" for me. Its like she is playing a character on the screen; she is restricted by the demand to lip-synch. The concert allowed the real person to show through in places.

Anyway, by either measure, y'all ain't seen nothin' yet. Musically, she's going places far beyond the past, and in terms of appearance, no woman at 18 can contend with herself at 23. That extra few years of maturity adds so much. 23 is approaching perfection. 25-35 is perfection, except for some who extend it until their mid-40s. Which I expect Alizée to do.

But the fact is that it's not her song. You're basically saying that her best song is a cover of a Madonna song, which if I were Alizée would find a bit insulting.

If you would say that La Isla Bonita was her best PERFORMANCE, it would be a whole different story.

Of course you have every right to think that La Isla Bonita is better than Alizée's songs, but it's a bit weird stating that on a forum dedicated to Alizée.
