America is a very large and diverse country. For any sort of thing, there are at least a few fans. And yes, we're a pretty small community....there are like ~1500 members here (not all of which post) out of a country of ~300 million.

If you read the stories in this thread, you'll see the main routes of entry are:

1. World of Warcraft (the Night Elf dance inspired by the J'en Ai Marre live dance)
2. La Isla Bonita (on youtube/etc.)
3. the live J'En Ai Marre dance (on youtube/etc.), often shared by a friend
4. Some other internet forum with a "beautiful women" thread or something along those lines.

There's some R&B I like, but Britney makes me heave.

My favorite music in English runs from classic rock to electro to alternative to Celtic, with some R&B and soul, basically anything except country, rap, and jazz. And trash pop like Britney Spears. Ugh!

I think you're right.

I took four years of Latin in high school, though, and studied Roman history. Corsica is one of the provinces Rome took from Carthage in the First Punic War, along with Sicily and Sardinia.

I was a World of Warcraft player. The dance routine for the female Night Elf in that game is based on Alizée's dance to JEAM. Someone pointed this out on the game forum and linked to a performance of the song on YouTube.

I had seen visions of Alizée (although I had no idea who she was or even that she was a real person) from before she was born. Seeing that video, I recognized her. Quite a shock! After that, I started looking up other videos, and my chance to resist was gone.

I actually discovered her through a movie, A Good Year. Moi... Lolita was used in it and the rest is history.
