hi
it's because many corsicans from the north of the island emigrated there at the end of the 19th century, rich ones
they're still influent and are able to support a corsican singer
cheers

Our last hope is Mexico, in which Psychédélices has been at #1 since launch, which will have a huge impact.

Still not 100,000, though, is my guess.
What really is a shame is the fact that someone like Lorie, who still sings teenybopper lyrics, can outsell Alizée. When I was browsing AFC, a French member stated that he most likely did not understand all of the lyrics and double sens that are incorporated throughout the songs.

Lorie, on the other hand, manages to get away with lyrics like:

Quote:
Je vais vite, je m'entraine
A ne pas perdre une seconde,
Je vais vite mais je freine,
Quand je vois que tu tombes,/
Quote:
I go quickly, I train myself
To not lose one second,
I go quickly but I brake
When I see that you're falling
The public is unpredictable...

It's been out for all of 12 days, too. I know we live in an age of instant gratification, but for this album in particular to reach its peak will take longer than that.

The only people who have bought it so far were the fans who have waited and hoped for years of silence. That 12-15,000 is a good measure of their numbers. Other people will need to hear the songs on the radio (and so far they've only heard one, unless they've been motivated to look for them on YouTube), or played by friends, or whatever, before deciding to actually buy the album.

When it's been available for six months you may get a better idea of how it will eventually do commercially.

I like that song. It's a shameless ripoff of Kylie Minogue's "Can't Get You Out of My Head" and it's vapid. It's supposed to vapid....

Maybe I'm a victim of mass-media cookie-cutter cultural dumbing-down.

I recommed entering YTube to see the Matrix video Help, Beatles song, the lyrics are awesome and mix great with the video itself.

We like Alizee in Mexico because she sings great, has class and shes just honest and smart...not many singers like that in Mexico. My guess would be cause what you hear and see is what you get, i got tired of so many "babe singer" wanabes that only show skin and no talent at all.

My wife surprised saturday which was my birthday and gave me the cd im so happy now. Just in case you dont know, if youre mexican or live near mexican border try store "Sanborns" they sell it there. Fav songs are 50/60, lily town, lonely list, mjuliette.

ALIZEE IS GOING TO ROCK OUR WORLD!!
