i saw "no country for old men". that movie was boring as hell...it SUUUUUUUUUUUCKED !

For me, I've loved Amelie since it's release. It was a simple, sincere story told in a very imaginative way. I've watched it so much I don't even pay attention to the subtitles anymore...I've read them enough I know what's going on by now. The visuals are really fun and tell a lot of the story, anyway.

I also just finished watching Atonement tonight, and I enjoyed it. They used a lot of elements to keep it interesting, such as non-linear sequences and even the music, using typewriter keys in the "suspenseful" scenes (writing being a theme and all). It wasn't the happiest of plots or anything, but a well-made movie. I'd like to read the book now, too.

I don't understand why hollywood remakes of europan or asian movies are always so bad, histories are always changed and simplified, it seems producers think the us audience is unable to understand complicated stories
is it so difficult to put subs on original movies there?

wicker park was actually pretty good. i had no idea it was a remake of a french film.

JUMPER, saw it matinée. It's ok for matinée, or if you're tight on cash, wait for DVD. It seemed they rushed this movie with roughly 90 min into it. It left me with one question needing to be answered. *don't want to spoil* My feeling is that for this story-line subject to be saved, it will need a sequel by someone willing to take their time. I still enjoyed the flick.

Just watched Letters from Iwo Jima.

Great movie IMO and pretty sad too.
