Second, is it up to you to decide who is and isn't welcome in Corsica? I thought there were lots of friendly and welcoming people in Corsica. I hope that was some kind of joke, because it wasn't very nice of you to say. |

Don't worry with the U.S. dollar trading at .66 Euro's the locals will literally kiss your American Derriere just for being there. U.S. tourism is way down and there is a lot of money that has vanished out of the French economy because of the weak dollar.

This thread seems to have gone WAY off topic and is suddenly turning into an America vs France situation!
Quite stupid really cos' as far as I'm aware we are all here to show our appreciation to a French gem known as Alizee, so where does politics and economy come into things? x |

Guess what I've lived with them for 18 years. Lemme explain to you why its different. In France, Corsica, etc you are taught in your own language in your schools i.e french, so english is automatically foreign to you. In India it doesn't work like that schools teach in English, so regional languages become secondary. This is how it is in every damn city, town, irrespective of size. Dreamer comes from Germany, and they teach in German in that country, still he can communicate in English. So, you see fluency in a language does not depend on country, it depends on you. Likewise there will be outsiders who can pwn you in french, corsican, etc And yeah dude seriously stop pretending to know 'bout other places you have no clue about! That would be like me telling you how to live in Corsica! |

Come on people! Why can people not just debate sensibly, and respectfully. The general idea of a debate is that you listen to the opinions of others, and in a relaxed manner, respond/disagree in an appropriate manner. I'm not too sure of the ages of some people on here, but I'm 17 and have an ability to debate sensibly, so why can't more mature, older people with more life experience carry out such a basic form of conversation?

I wasn't even trying to be a problem. Just what I have read about what is going on in Frances tourism industry. The exchange rate has not been good for the businesses that rely on tourism for a majority of their incomes.
BTW back on subject, The few people I know that have visited France over the last few years have all came back with the same story. They had a great time and were treated very well by the French people they interacted with. Be it the hotel staff, cab drivers, shop keepers, waiters and waitresses. Renegade is going to have a great time during his visit to France. |

Some of you guys are really acting like highshoolers and most of you here are adults. Maybe you guys should act like one and figure out things peacefully and not have a pissy fit like my 16year old neece. Also, when I got my money exchanged it was no problem and everything went smoothly. People here are nice if you just show mutual respect. How would you like if thousands of immigrants came to America to visit but refused to speak English out of PURE PRIDE.(Hmmmm PRIDE thats what some of you guys are filled with after reading some of these posts.) I started this thread to talk about France and stuff to do but NO it turns into a WAR OF WORDS and everyone is at each other's throats NOW STOP IT!! Peace Out PS I hope this problem gets settled. Thank you ggin Alizee=Czech Princess ALS garconcanadien (sorry forgot about you) At least there are a few people that can act like adults and stay on topic.
