she could of planned this trip for months(in fact, she probably did), and still the outcome would of been the same. i see what you're saying, but it all boils down to the crowd, whether they want to show a little understanding and a little civility or not, which they failed to do so. |

![]() Nurvonic, I'm really really sure that I'm not being as hard on her as she's being on herself.
Yes, the crowd were jerks, some of them, but the real problem as I understand it was that far, far more people showed up just to see Alizée than the 500 people who got the bracelets and were scheduled to get an autograph. How could they have handled it? Well, since only those 500 people were scheduled to to receive autographs, have it be a private session with no one else invited -- and no publicity as to where it was being held. That's just one idea, and I don't work in the business nor in security. I'm sure her own people have already gone over this and come up with others. Responsible for crowd control -- yes! Indeed she is. Not directly, perhaps, I'm sure she delegates that, but in the end she's responsible for everything. That's what running your own show means. Just as in the old days, Mylène was responsible for everything, including training Alizée for her own performances! Now, no Mylène -- it's all on Alizée.

![]() I believe that in the case of most celebrity appearences, the venue hires the security and staff. I'm sure the celebrity also has some private security that travels with them, but most is provided by the local venue.
In any event, who's to say that the store owner/manager didn't say something to the effect of "no way were opening our doors and letting that many people rush in?" Maybe Alizée had no choice in the matter. Again, I wasn't there and don't really know what happened. Just another suggestion.

![]() Hey people, things like this always happens, it's a very usual thing...the people who organized this are to blame...or not, how could they know that so many people would be there?
And she knew nothing about nothing there, and she really shouldn't...her work is to do the shows and autographs, and etc...not to organize events and security. |

![]() ![]() ![]() As for the security arrangements, I actually feel very qualified to comment on this. Here at the Hospital (since we have a nationally known Ivy League School here) we have had many "VIPS" come through. Without exception - it is the responsibility of the VENUE to arrange for security/safety issues. The VIP's entourage are resposible for their "person of interest's" safety. In many cases this means we get inspected by the Secret Service, the FBI and other agencies. However, when we have had Bands, Singers and Actors/Actresses here, the UNIVERSITY is responsible for the AREA security (site security). The traveling person has no first hand knowledge to base their assesments on. So this thing breaks down to two parts: 1) - What part was Alizée or her Security Professional responsible for? & 2) - What is the venue responsible for? I am 98% sure that Alizée's team took the security measures necessary for moving thier "Person of Interest" safely, and coherently through the "target location". This means knowing all entrances/exits, crowd confining or controlling features (pillars or walls - other non-breakable structures) and multiple routes to/from the venue to/from their "home base". The VENUE is responsible (this is the part i'm not 100% sure on - not knowing mexican laws) for controlling the events they sponsor. In my experience (both here in America and overseas) - they must anticipate min/max crowd size, time of event - and best/worst case scenarios... This venue (imho) failed miserably. Fans were uncontrolled, and so reacted in an uncontrolled fashion.... Typically, when controlls are in place and effective for the situation - these things dont happen.... Deep - this is one time I must (respectfully) disagree, in its entirety, with your statement that: Responsible for crowd control -- yes! She and her security people are responsible for her safety, period. The venue is responsible for her safety, the safety of people coming to their place of business, and all the other business' around that are impacted by the event. I do not believe that she will cancell her tour in S./C. America - however, I do imagine that the people who want to have her on their stage are going to have to pony up more money from the get-go for security.... Respectfully to all my fellow AAm'rs! Ed ![]() P.S. - watching her apologize for cancelling WAS very sad - thats not a video i'm going to watch more than once... And I'm glad i'm at work - so i didn't see the "fans" burning any of her items.... Ed ![]()

![]() I think the possibility of disorder and cancellation was on the minds of a lot of organizing people beforehand. The rules that I posted earlier, which were originally posted on Alizee-Mexico, repeatedly said "everyone must do X, or the event will be canceled". Of course, that doesn't mean that people attending read them or wanted to follow them....

![]() I wonder when she'll be coming back, after this she probably wants to get the hell outta dodge. Mexico has probably put a bad taste in her mouth now but the true fans deserve a show or two.
