I think that's a lot less true than it once was, and to the extent it's still true it's because the U.S. has more evangelical Christians than Europe does, and it's a difference confined mainly to that subculture. I have certainly not found American women to be sexually passive.

Yeah, even if you're from a small conservative town in the Midwest like me you'll see evidence of women not being passive. I mean if you haven't, just go to college or live in a town or city bigger than your own, and I'm sure you'll see the difference. Even where Christianity is more than just "subculture," secularism is still very dominant, especially with the topic of sexuality. Good or bad, that's how it is these days.
