And those folks thinking it is a Mini need to realize that the photos are pretty old. Unlike the article.

I'm not sure if that is her car in the video. It didn't really look like an Opel because of the lack of the big Opel symbol like on the newer D-model and it couldn't be the prior C-model because of the tail lights. The Maure head also didn't look blue and was not located on her "registration". But what do I know. If anything, it could just be a coincidence that she noticed the Maure head. Besides, she seems to only be jesting with the camera that the car was manufactured by Maure when she says "par Maure" but the video cuts off immediately afterwards. So, maybe it is her car and they don't want people to actually see her getting into it. (I for one don't think it is.)

I don't know which model you refer to, but the Minis can be a surprise package. Let's take the Mini S:

It carries 170+HP with a flat powerband pulling 177 lb-ft of torque from from 1600 to 5500 RPM (high end torque is 164). Given the car is relatively light (under 2700 lbs) and hits peak torque low in the powerband, the jump off the line will surprise you. It puts more torque to wheels than the normally aspirated (NA) Saturn SKY (see my pretty car pics earlier in this thread). Or, said another way, it will beat the NA SKY from 0 to 60.

IMHO, this is probably the top limit of power for any new driver (probably too much). If power and performance is your measure, the Mini is a nice ride.

Mini's are the best cars out there! I've not long bought a Mini and am learning to drive in it, and its the best car i've ever sat in! I could really see Miss Alizee in a Chilli Red Cooper S with ALOT of specification set to it! They may look small, but when me & my grandad were taking it on a test drive the salesman sat in the back, and he's 7 FOOT! I really would recommend a Mini to any and everybody =)
