My A$$ Rides In Navy Equipment

..however

Never Again Volunteer Yourself

The 'sir' thing isn't about addressing those with higher rank than you, it's whether or not you're officer or enlisted. If someone is enlisted you call them by their rank or rank/grade, officers you can say 'sir' or their rank as well. This will help you in your first few days of boot camp

.. oh and good luck in the Chair Force

Chair Force? Not all of us, try security forces, aka aerospace infantry. We're just guaranteed to sleep in a warm bed MOST of the time. The sad part is, we do more than any other military police in any other branch. Law enforcement, security, air base defense, nuclear security, and deploy. We're also required to know a lot of mundane job knowledge as a result. I don't know why it's important to know how much a fully loaded m4 weighs, it's not gonna stop us from putting rounds down range.

Not really angry man, just wanting everyone to know that all air force jobs are easy. Especially if someone is considering going security forces cuz they want to do police work. It was fan the past few years, but I want to cross train out into a "chair force" career field. I've done my time being "hooah", I would rather like an simple back office job that is actually worth something outside of the military. Bah, I should have listened to my recruiter and gone into computers. Oh, and you should see the new airman's creed for the air force. It claims that airmen are warriors, BS!!! Most of them wouldn't even know how to remove a magazine from an m16. Trust me, I've been on convoys with members of the "chair force".

hahah funny. Yeah I was always taught to say sir to anyone whether they being enlisted or officer, but like i sad Im not enlisted nor officer yet; im still a cadet, so its different for me and you. My Gunny makes us call him sir, we have to stand up when we have a question and start and end our sentences with sir. Also at are drill comps, we always call the drill instructors who are inspecting us sir other wise we get points taken off. ( I once eyeballed a Staff sergeant by mistake, he wasn't happy) Or when we go on to the drill deck we say " Sir T****** High School Marine ROTC, requesting permission to use your drill deck sir." He will say carry on and we will say eye sir. Until I become and officer I have to call all military personal sir or mam.

Chair Force lol. I get stuff like that from my peers all the time, my Gunny calls the air force dress uniforms "bus driver uniforms." its all good though lol.

Btw, I can unload an reload an M-14 or a Springfield, we drill with them all the time. Sadly I never got to use an M-16 which is my favorite weapon. How would you do inception arms on a M-16?

Yeah I have nothing but respect for all services, I actually have class 6-7 hours a day, every day with members from all 4 forces (well coast guard excluded but props to them too). We have a lot of fun giving each other a hard time, I would say most of it goes between us (navy) and the marines though, very sibling-ish.

FRA - sounds like they're doing a good job of developing your military baring, that's awesome. Good luck to ya.

oh marines and Navy, never expected that, I always thought it was Marines vs Army lol. Yeah i used to know this guy Sergeant Karp who would say the difference between the Navy and the Marines is the men join the Marines No offense to any sailors. Navy has to be my second favorite branch besides the air force. They say an aircraft carrier is the most import thing on the battlefield. Nimitz class carriers are just plain sexy.
But im all for every branch!

An aircraft carrier? I doubt that, it's more a mix of the combined effort of all 4 branches. However, each one like to toot their own horn. The air force believes that air superiority is the most important thing because we dominated the Iraqi forces by bombing the hell out of them. But I wont deny that the ground forces moved in and took over. I haven't heard much about the Navy doing much in this war; they just have the lowest casualty rate. I've heard Navy is skate though if you serve on a carrier and you're single. It's supposed to be hella hard though cuz we only have like 12 in our whole fleet to my understanding.

Oh, and as for drills with an m16, we don't use them. Air Force color guard also use m14s or m1 garands. I wouldn't want to use an m16 anyway; if you drop it, something would probably break. Most of the air force only has to qualify on an m16 every 2 years. We SF use the m4 and have to qualify every 6 months. Once a year on the m9 barretta; but the air force is supposed to start testing a new handgun soon. Bah, I wish they didn't can the Xm8, that thing looks sweet and everyone gave it rave reviews.

All the nice girls love a sailor (and luckily so do the bad ones).

It's important to remember just how good Alizée looked in the sailor suit as well. I just dont think she would have looked as good in baggy combats, body armour, helmet and webbing.

Useless fact: The collar on the navy uniform (also on the Alizée one) was detachable - harking back to the days when sailors could have pony tails, as long as they were covered in tar. They kept the tar off the uniform and could be taken off and washed.
