The Hush Sound
Anyone else heard of this band? I saw them this weekend open for Jack's Mannequin and they were great. They played two shows - opening for JM in the afternoon and then headlining a night club show that evening. During the second show, they invited everyone who could fit onto the stage to dance as they played. It was pretty cool.
You can listen to clips from their two albums on their myspace page. They actually have two singers, Greta Salpeter and Bob Morris, so if you prefer male or female vocals, there's something for everybody. They alternate vocals in a bunch of songs, too. (The bassist sings backup vocals, too).

Nah, not at all. They're kind of a medly of rock, pop, jazz, and some other influences I can't think of right now.
They don't wear black, their male members don't wear eyeshadow, and they don't sing about cutting...so they're not emo.
