Wink Silly fun with names you'll want to read

I had previously referenced a Web page at which, in part, I reported the geography (sic.) of the surnames "Jacotey" and "Chatelain" and their surprising isomorphism. You can still find it here: http://bellsouthpwp.net/d/o/docdtv/Alizee/2009Dec/

Now I will reveal some things about the given names, "Alizée" and "Jérémy."

An English-language site, whose domain name was created on 14 Nov 2007 and is registered in California, USA (and presumably uses USA name statistics), reports the following.

http://www.babynamespedia.com/meaning/Aliz_0_eacute_1_e
Alizée - Origin and Meaning of the name
Meaning of the name Alizée
[ syll. al-iz-ée ] The girl name Alizée is a German name of French origin. Derived from the word 'alizé' with the meaning trade wind... Baby names that sound like Alizée include the name Alizee... [See page for more details]

(Aside: When I command http://translate.google.com/ to automatically "detect language" it opines that "Alizée" is French.)

A French-language site, whose domain name was created on 24-May-2004 and is registered in Paris, France (and presumably uses République française name statistics), ignores diacritical marks, and reports the following.

http://www.bebe-prenoms.com/pages/pr...lizee-829.html
shows that the popularity of the name suddenly took off the year (1984) A.J. was born and showed a peak in 2001 - no doubt from the fame of A.J. that year. It writes:

"Depuis 1900, 10178 enfants ont été prénommés ALIZEE dont 10178 depuis 1950. Le maximum a été atteint en 2001 avec 1201 naissances..."

In 2007, the name was in 316th place in popularity, accounting for the names of 447 babies. [See page for more details]

Annily site:bebe-prenoms.com - did not match any documents.

This French Web site also presumes to prophesy the "romantic affinity" of any pair of male and female given names, under the appeal:

"Elle et Lui, ça fait..."

A silly as this is, it is no doubt also a potential source of fun! After all, if flying fairies can exist, why can't something like this? ;o)

Remember, this is NOT about OUR Alizée and Jérémy - it is all just some silly party-game fun with names. Yet... here may lie the fodder of more "Julie de Milo" rumors. Muhahahah! Remember, as Oscar Wilde wrote, "There is only one thing worse than being talked about, and that is not being talked about."

The rest of this post then is a free translation of the French text generated at:

My various annotations to it appear within square brackets: []

Romantic affinity between the given names Jeremy and Alizee
==============================================

Jeremy and Alizee have a good chance of realizing a suitable arrangement. "Suitable" is the qualifier.

In effect, these partners are decent people, reserved and courteous. But not as a couple, as they engender violent scenes in which hurtful words are exchanged. [ ]

Yet in contrast, these partners have a marked lack of enthusiasm and exuberance, and if their union is without turbulence, it will also be no surprise, probably being somewhat devoid of warmth and emotional experiences. [ ]

These two are very attached to money and material goods, whose accumulation is one of their primary concerns.[Hmm... Lagerfeld, Chanel, electronics, etc.]

Jeremy and Alizee tend to live a little closed in upon themselves and do not seek to provoke encounters. Their home is comfortable; they feel content and will return there as often as possible. [I thought "the rules had changed"?]

To overcome what might appear to some as monotony, there should be a great passion for a common animating ideal. [The music biz!] But are they capable of great passion?

The sensitivities of these partners are in complete agreement in the matter of "extracurricular" sex. Also, one being as conservative as the other, they are unlikely to put one another in danger. [Thank goodness!]

But perhaps there is where the difficulty lies: both the one and the other need a more enthusiastic partner to bind them together and explore their possibilities. Said otherwise, to maintain their passion, they must constantly be creative and wary of the routine. ["J'aime pas l'habitude"?]
