The study, conducted by Harvard University researchers, found the face of an attractive woman triggers the same reward centres in a man's brain as the narcotic.

Test subjects were shown images of attractive females, and brain imaging scans revealed that reward circuitry fired off when they looked at comely faces.

A prominent curved forehead, eyes, nose and mouth located relatively low, large eyes, round cheeks and a small chin were among the features men found most attractive.

This truly hits home right about now.. again.

So as many of the older members here know, I became completely, utterly, and helplessly infatuated with Alizée back when I was a snappy young 18 year old. When I took my hiatus earlier this year, I thought that I had finally overcome the lillybug bite. I don't mean to say that during the hiatus I didn't think about or listen to Alizée, for I did many times, but I thought the whole "OMG I TOTS LUV HER" stage was long gone.

Boy was I wrong!

Just last weekend, it was my turn to clean the apartment, and with both my roommates gone for the weekend, I had the apartment to myself. So I figured I'd make the chore more bearable by popping in the En Concert DVD as I went about cleaning..

Watching her dance again was just.. just amazingly beautiful and nostalgic. I mean, I noticed all the little mannerisms that so infatuated me that long ago, such as the lilly nose scrunch during C'est Trop Tard, her cute surprised reaction when she gets hit by a towel at the end of Youpidou, the shrug she does in the middle of J'en Ai Marre, that simple but adoring turn she does during Moi...Lolita, the little dancing on the spot she does before introducing her drummer and so on.

It's like being bitten by the lilly bug all over again!

Only this time though, I have work at the poultry research farm, TA duties, and shifts at the large animal clinic to help keep me sane. The first time this happened, I literally could not sleep, knowing someone so amazing was out there, so far away, unattainable.

Of course I do realize that this Alizée that first caught me and many of our attention is long gone, but Alizée is still friggen Alizée.
